Digital Smile Design
DESIGNING DIGITAL SMILE
“A revolution in the art of creating beautiful smiles”
Digital Smile Designing: What Is It?
- By creating a 3D simulation and presenting a digital mockup of your new smile design before the treatment (clinically) begins, Digital Smile Design empowers you to understand the treatment’s outcome and helps you visualize it beforehand.
- Digital Smile Design is a revolutionary technique in the field of dentistry where dental treatment planning can be done using 3D scanning.
How Do You Create a Digital Smile Design?
- The CEREC CAD-CAM system is utilized for Digital Smile Design at ARKA Dental Care.
- CEREC creates a properly fitting prosthesis by taking a digital impression of your mouth using CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacture) technology.
- We are able to mill the following in a “single sitting” with CEREC, CAD-CAM:
- Dental crowns/caps
- Dental Bridges
- Laminates
- Veneers
- Lumineers
- Inlays and Onlays
Procedure:
- First, an intraoral camera will be used by our dentist to scan your teeth.
- Your teeth’s 3D photos will be created after the scanning is complete.
- Our cosmetic dentist will create a model of your smile so you can see the necessary adjustments, such as adjusting the size, shape, and location of your teeth, choosing a new tooth to replace a lost one, etc.
- After the design is complete, the milling and polishing procedure will begin. One unit may be milled in 14 minutes using our CEREC CAD-CAM system, and polishing takes another 12 minutes.
- Your teeth will have the prepared crowns firmly bonded to them after milling and polishing are complete.
- The complete procedure takes around one hour, of which thirty minutes are spent in your chair.
What Significance Does Digital Smile Design Have?
If any of the following apply to you, digital smile design may be right for you:
- Midline diastema: This is the space in the midline between two front teeth; it can be fixed in a single appointment with dental crowns.
- Misaligned teeth: With braces, it takes a long time to straighten crooked or misaligned teeth inside the smile line; with DSD, malalignment can be fixed in just one visit.
- Chipped teeth: Dental veneers, laminates, or crowns can be used in a single appointment to fix teeth that have chipped from trauma or falls.
- Discolored teeth: Dental veneers or laminates can be used in a single visit to treat teeth stained by fluorosis, fizzy drinks, etc.
- Gummy smile: DSD can be used to customize the smile’s contour.
- Missing teeth: Teeth that are missing inside the smile line can be fixed in a single appointment.
- Attrited teeth: Dental crowns can be used to treat attrition, or the loss or wear of tooth structure, in a single appointment.
- Craze lines on teeth: These lines resemble cracks on teeth that are either the result of aging or strong biting forces. Dental veneers can treat craze lines in only one visit.
What Benefits Does Digital Smile Design Offer?
- Time-saver: Digital grin design saves time because it just takes about an hour to scan, mill, polish, and correct each crown! In contrast, the manufacture of standard lab crowns takes one week and three dental visits.
- Prevent discomfort: Digital grin design eliminates impression material discomfort by using the 3D scanning approach in place of producing an impression with trays.
Above all, you can witness that pivotal moment when you can know how your smile will be transformed beforehand. The crowns prepared using a Digital Smile Design are prepared by our cosmetic dentist himself with the utmost care and attention to every detail; therefore, they will be more precise than lab crowns.
